Women’s Duo Finish 23rd And 25th At WWU Spring Invite

The NCMC Women's Golf team traveled to Fulton, MO on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the WWU Spring Invitational held at Tanglewood Golf Course. Monday saw the Duo of Courtney Crose and Casey Phillips play well on a longer course competing against mostly 4-year universities. Crose shot a 90 with nine-hole splits of 44-46 and made a birdie on the Par 3 5th hole. Casey Phillips fired a 92 on Monday which included two birdies and an impressive (+3) 39 on her back nine which is Phillips's collegiate low. Tuesday saw Phillips improve her Monday mark by five shots firing an 87 for NCMC. Crose stayed consistent, posting a final round tally of 94. Phillips and Crose finished 23rd and 25th respectively in the 41-player tournament field. "Really proud of the girls this week against a loaded tournament field. This was a busy stretch of six rounds of golf in six days and they finished their rounds very well on Monday and Tuesday. Both Courtney and Casey continue to show growth as we continue to play some longer courses throughout the Spring and are hopefully trending in the right direction as Regionals is quickly approaching", Quoted Head Coach Nate Swann.

The NCMC Women's Golf Team will be in action next Wednesday as they head to Oskaloosa, IA to compete in the Spring Statesmen Shootout hosted by William Penn University. Tee Times from Edmundson Golf Course is TBD.
