Spring Golf Gets Started For NCMC

The North Central Missouri College Men's and Women's Golf Team opened up their 2024 Spring Campaign Monday and Tuesday at the Evangel Spring Invitational in Springfield, MO. The Pirates played 36 holes at Fremont Hills Country Club. The Lady Pirates had trouble with the firm and fast greens on Day 1 and posted a team score of 430. Tuesday saw the Pirates make some adjustments and improve their Monday score by 44 shots and firing a team tally of 386. At the conclusion of Tuesday's round the Lady Pirates finished in 3rd place behind host Evangel University and Des Moines Area Community College. "This was a really good tournament for both squads to begin their Spring seasons. Fremont Hills is known for their fast greens and everyone was able to figure that out quickly. The girls got off to a shaky start Monday but played better on the front nine then came into Tuesday with a completely different mindset. I was very pleased to see them play well on Tuesday and gain some momentum going into Sedalia next week."

Kennedy Dickerson led the Pirates finishing in 8th place after two rounds posting a 96 Day 1 and a 91 on Day 2 for a 36-hole total of 187. Mollee Olszowka posted a two-day total of 201 while Haley Baskett finished with a 36-hole score of 202. Skyler Powers rounded out the Lady Pirate scoring with a two-day tally of 226. Luke Lopes competed as an individual on the Men's side and finished with a two-day score of 197.

The NCMC Women's Golf team will be in action next Monday and Tuesday at the SFCC Roadrunner Classic in Sedalia, MO. Shotgun start from Sedalia Country Club both days will begin at 10:00 A.M.
