NCMC Posts Best Team Score Since September, Finish 7th At Iowa Central

The North Central Missouri College Women's Golf Team traveled to Fort Dodge, IA over the weekend to compete in the Iowa Central Spring Invite held at Fort Dodge Country Club. After completion of the event the Lady Pirates finished 7th in the tournament but played some of their best golf of the Spring and posted their best 36-hole team score since the Peru State Fall Invitational back on September 8th. The Lady Pirates came in with an opening round 386 and a final round tally of 391. "Really proud of the attitude and effort from the girls this past weekend. They all came in with a simple game plan of hitting fairways and greens and were able to do that while limiting penalty strokes which has been a big goal of ours this Spring. Almost everyone has been very consistent thus far but Brianna has been playing some terrific golf these last couple weeks and her scores are starting to show that." Iowa Central who was the host school won the team portion of the event after conclusion of play on Saturday.

Kennedy Dickerson led the Lady Pirates in scoring after shooting a 94 on Friday and firing a 91 on Saturday while improving by three shots. Dickerson finished in T22nd place for the event. Lexi Hutton played well again for NCMC and finished in T30th place after a 36-hole tally of 193. Haley Baskett and Brianna Filley placed 32nd and 37th place respectively to round out the Pirate scoring. Baskett posted scores of 96-100 for North Central and Filley shot her personal 36-hole total with splits of 98-105.

The Lady Pirates will now be in action next on Monday, April 10th at the Southeastern CC Blackhawk Spring Invitational held at Burlington Golf Club in Burlington, IA. Shotgun start will begin at 10:00 A.M.
