Lady Pirates Golf Has Strong Showing at Iowa Wesleyan

The North Central Missouri College Pirate women's golf team traveled to Fort Madison, IA on Tuesday to compete in the IWU Spring Tiger Classic. "Thanks to Coach Moon and Iowa Wesleyan for hosting a terrific event. I was pleased with how the girls played today.  We still have a lot of work to do but took a lot of positives away from the event," commented 1st year coach Nate Swann.

Lexi Hutton and Taylor Hileman led the Pirates with twin scores of 98 and a 16th place finish for the tournament. Laynie Sweiger shot 108 which finished her in 24th place. "Given the conditions the girls fared well with the golf course. We are still figuring out how to save some strokes on the scorecard specifically around the greens and I think the girls can all back that up.  We are going to work extremely hard on that during the back half of the week and adapt to what is working for them. We have not seen the best of them yet but we are making the correct strides to get to that point."

The NCMC women's golfers will be in action next at the Park University Spring Classic on April 4th and 5th. A shotgun start from The Deuce Golf Club of Kansas City will occur at 10:00 am.
