Lady Pirates Shoot Program Record at Graceland

The NCMC Lady Pirates traveled to Lamoni, IA on Saturday to compete in the Graceland Fall Invitational. NCMC finished in 2nd as a team only 4 strokes behind tournament champion Baker University. The pirates shot the program record with a team score of 365. Baker University finished with a score of 361. Peru State finished in 3rd as a team with a score of 376.

"I was very happy with how the girls competed today. Everybody 1-5 played some solid golf all day long and finishing only 4 shots out of 1st place doesn't sting so bad when you know the girls played some of their best golf. A few too many penalty shots kept us out of a tournament win but breaking the program record is a good feeling and will hopefully give the girls the confidence that has been missing this Fall."

Emily Long led the Pirates with an 84 which placed her in the Top Five for the day. Taylor Hileman shot an 89 which included 2 birdies. Lexi Hutton also had a birdie on the day and shot a 95 for NCMC. Laynie Sweiger had her best round of the Fall and shot a 97. Alison Allen rounded out the team score with a 106 for the Lady Pirates.

The Lady Pirates will be back in action next at the Simpson Fall Invitational on September 22nd at Indianola Country Club.
