NCMC women's golf competed in the Moundbuilder Spring Invite on March 29-30 and posted a 6th place team finish. Winning the event was College of the Ozarks who posted a 2-day team score of 716; the Lady Pirates team score was 876. Individually, NCMC took the following places in the 36 player field:
14th Sara Golden +41
22nd Taylor Hileman +52
32nd Kiersten Howell +71
36th Rachel Holt +136
Here are some comments from Head Coach Daniel Cordray following the event. "Sara led the way for us finishing 14th. Day one blew 35-40 with gusts up to 57mph. It was definitely a tough day on the course. Day two was 55 degrees and blew 20-25 from the exact opposite direction. I was glad to see that the ladies fought both days to get the best they could out of their rounds. Day two each of the four came out and knocked strokes off from round one, so I think we're seeing that we're more comfortable at settling in and improving as each tourney goes on. We're now off until regionals and will work hard the next two weeks to see if we can capture a region title."
