NCMC Lady Pirates Golf showed improvement in their second tournament of the fall placing 3rd of 5 in the War at the Moor hosted by Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA. The Lady Pirates posted a team score of 183 in the 9-hole event. Winning the tournament was Iowa Western Community College with a 170.

The Lady Pirates had two top 10 finishers in the 32-person field. Jessica Sheil led the way posting a score of 43, which was good for a 5th place tie. Gretchen Tharp's 44 placed her in 10th.

Head Coach Daniel Cordray had these comments about his team's efforts. "It was good seeing a bounce back after a struggle finishing the tourney in Marion. It was our first event of the year, but I could see we lost our focus that final 18 during times of the round. I challenged the ladies yesterday to get back on track and to take care of business on the course and we'd have a shot at placing in the event. We looked much better on the course yesterday and only came in behind perennial power Iowa Western and NAIA member Graceland. I think it will help us a lot with our confidence moving forward on the season."
