Women's Golf Opens In Arizona

Lady Pirates Golf kicked off their spring season with a trip to the Pima Invitational in Arizona over spring break.  While the team didn't have the need 4 players to compete as a team, Hannah Bracken, Julia Weydert, and Shayla Woodside each competed individually.  Bracken led the way with a 15th place finish in the 33-woman field.  Her two-day score for the event was +53.  Weydert scored +94 and Woodside ended +165.

"The ladies learned quite a bit while playing a very quality course at The Views.   It was a great experience getting to compete against the junior colleges in Arizona.  It showed us where we stack up and what we need to work on the rest of the way.  I was glad with how each of the ladies fought to improve on day two.  Hannah had a solid two days and just missed out on a top 10 finish.  I think each of the ladies would each agree that we could have shaved 5-10 shots per round off with better putting.  I think the trip was a success for this year's ladies and helped excite future Lady Pirate golfers as well," remarked Coach Daniel Cordray of the event.
