The NCMC women's basketball team delivered a strong all-around performance on Friday to improve to 6-5 overall, defeating Missouri Valley College JV 91–46 behind efficient scoring, depth, and a commanding advantage on the glass.
Sophomore Honor Mannings led the Lady Pirates with a game-high 20 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and adding six rebounds and five steals in an impressive two-way outing.
NCMC controlled the paint from start to finish, thanks in part to standout efforts from Liz Oliver, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds, and Tailer Morrison, who added 10 points and three boards while converting key finishes inside.
NCMC's bench made a major impact as well, combining for 55 points. Lexi Burns provided a strong presence with 13 points and six rebounds, while Addilyn Henke added 12 points and eight rebounds, knocking down two threes in the effort. Laney Uchtman delivered one of her best outings of the season with 10 points and six rebounds, including 7-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Sidney Aeschliman and Keylie Beane facilitated the offense with a combined four assists and four steals, while Delaney Richards chipped in seven points and three rebounds to round out the scoring.
With 51 total rebounds, 20 team steals, and nine players scoring seven or more points, the Lady Pirates showcased depth and energy across the roster.
Next up will be a Saturday home game against Neosho County CC. Tipoff is set for 1:00pm and will be part of the athletic department's canned food drive. Fans can pay admission by making non-perishable food item donations.
