North Central Missouri College showcased a balanced team effort in their matchup against Metropolitan Community College, securing a 61-41 victory with dominant rebounding and solid defensive play.
Gladys Brown set the tone early, contributing across the board with five points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists. While Jessica Reeter struggled with her shooting, hitting just 2 of 13 from the field, she made her presence felt elsewhere by grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out a team-high four assists. Oliviya Tinoco provided additional perimeter scoring with six points on 2-of-3 shooting from deep, while Jacie Morris chipped in eight points on an efficient 3-of-5 shooting performance.
The reserves played a crucial role in maintaining the lead. Kayanna Cranmer came off the bench and delivered a game-high 16 points, hitting two three-pointers while also collecting two steals. Talicia Byrd and Maddi Fisher each added six and five points, respectively, while Tailer Morrison anchored the paint with a game-high 10 rebounds, adding three points and three assists.
North Central Missouri dominated the boards, pulling down 52 total rebounds compared to Metropolitan's 29. Their second-chance opportunities were key, as they secured 23 offensive rebounds to keep possessions alive. Their defensive intensity also paid off, forcing 24 turnovers while nabbing 15 steals.
Despite shooting struggles from beyond the arc (8-for-28) and the free-throw line (9-for-20), North Central's tenacity on both ends of the floor allowed them to control the game and seal a comfortable 20-point victory.
