Lady Pirates Finish First Semester At 10-6

Women's basketball completed their first semester schedule with three games in Florida and three games in Illinois over the holiday break.  The 16th ranked Lady Pirates went 3-3 in that action which featured matchups with three ranked opponents and another who was receiving votes in the latest NJCAA DII women's basketball poll.  NCMC is now 10-6 overall with their next action coming on Thursday, January 9th against 2nd ranked and undefeated Johnson County CC.

 

For the season, NCMC is averaging 70.4 points per game and led in scoring by Jessica Reeter with 16.0 ppg.  In addition, averaging double digit scoring is Gladys Brown with 10.9 ppg.  On top of scoring, Reeter and Brown have facilitated the offense well averaging 3.9 and 3.8 assists respectively.  Pacing NCMC's balanced rebounding effort have been Jacie Morris (6.0), Brown (5.8), Abbi Fountain (5.8) and Oliviya Tinoco (5.5). 

 

Looking to the 2025 slate of games, here are some important dates to watch.

 

Ranked opponents:

Jan. 9th @ #2 Johnson County CC

Feb. 5th vs. #1 Kirkwood CC

Feb. 8th vs. #23 Jefferson College (Region 16 opponent)

Feb. 21st @ #23 Jefferson College (Region 16 opponent)

 

Other Region 16 matchups will take place at home on January 25th against St. Louis CC (Alumni Recognition and Hall of Fame Inductions) and February 1st against Metropolitan CC (Sophomore Recognition).  The Lady Pirates will take on Metro CC on the road January 18th and St. Louis CC February 22nd.
