NCMC women's basketball downed Des Moines Area CC 82-71 on Tuesday night to cap off their regular season with a 22-6 mark. As the NJCAA Region 16 champion, they will wait to see where they will head for district postseason action. They will face the winner of Region 2 in the Central Plains district matchup on March 11th.
Nora Ford, fresh off setting the NCMC career scoring record, posted another strong offensive performance. She totaled 26 points on 8-13 shooting plus went 8-9 from the charity stripe. Macie Moore added 17 points in her final game in front of the packed Ketcham Center crowd and Ianara Morbidoni added 16 points.
NCMC trailed the visiting Bears by 3 points at halftime but owned the second half. They outscored DMACC 41-27 in the final two periods.
