New School Records Set For Lady Pirates In 120-46 Win

The 20th ranked Lady Pirates hit the road Wednesday and crushed Marshalltown CC 120-46 to improve to 20-5 for the year.  Additionally, the 120 points scored set a new school record for a single game.  That mark had previously been held by the 2008-09 Lady Pirates who totaled 112 points against St. Louis CC-Forest Park.

In addition, these records were also set in the game.

  • Most assists (34) --- tied record
  • Most rebounds (63)
  • Least turnovers (6) --- tied record

NCMC had 7 players reach double figures in scoring during the dominant win.  The team led from the tip and by the end of the 1st quarter had spaced the game out to a 35-12 score.  The Lady Pirates outscored Marshalltown in every quarter.  The host Lady Tigers fell to 0-21 for the year.

Next up for NCMC will be a tall task when they head to Cedar Rapids, IA on Saturday to tangle with 2nd ranked Kirkwood CC.  The Lady Eagles are 22-2 and look to be a nice test for NCMC on the national stage.
