Lady Pirates Win Battle Of NJCAA Ranked Opponents

NCMC women's basketball avenged an early season defeat to Kansas City Kansas CC on Tuesday when they knocked off the 11th ranked Blue Devils 56-44 in front of a packed house in the Ketcham Community Center.  The Lady Pirates, currently ranked 19th but sure to rise following the win, will next be in action on the road Tuesday, Nov. 29th when they clash with Allen County CC.

 

Neither team lit up the scoreboard in the matchup of NJCAA DII ranked opponents.  As a team, NCMC shot 26.9% from the field in the game but did knock in 25 free throws to pull out the win.  KCKCC committed a staggering 32 fouls in the game to NCMC's 15.

 

Leading the Lady Pirates in scoring was Nora Ford with 14 points, 12 of which were from the charity stripe.  Sophomores Maci Moore and Ianara Morbidoni each netted 12 points in the win.

 

For KCKCC, the pair of T'Yonne Duncan (11pts) and Jennifer Guilbeaux (10pts) scored double figures off the bench.
