Lady Pirates Bounce Back In Lopsided Win Over Marshalltown CC

Lady Pirates basketball rebounded from Saturday's defeat in a big way when they outmatched Marshalltown Community College 107-41 in the Ketcham Community Center.  NCMC, down to #15 in the latest NJCAA poll, will look to continue their momentum when they travel to Kansas City Kansas CC this weekend for a pair of games in the KCKCC Classic.  On Friday they will take on the host at 6:00pm and on Saturday it will be a noon matchup with Jefferson College.

Scoring was spread evenly for the Lady Pirates in Wednesday's win.  Reaching double figures were starters Ianara Morbidoni (19 pts), Maci Moore (18 pts), and Kennadie Crowe (13 pts).  Off the bench, freshmen Tori Meinecke (14 pts) and Mary Copeland (13 pts) had excellent games.

NCMC used a stifling defense to jump out to a big lead and coast to victory.  At the half, NCMC held a 60-21 advantage.  In the game, the Lady Pirates forced 21 turnovers from Marshalltown CC.  The 66-point margin of victory is the team's highest so far in the young season.
