NCMC women's basketball continued their hot start to the season Saturday when they handily defeated Marshalltown CC 96-55 at the Ketcham Community Center. With the win, the Lady Pirates are now 2-0 ahead of a home contest Tuesday against Fort Scott CC. Tipoff for that game is 5:30pm.
Leading the scoring for a balanced NCMC attack was sophomore Nora Ford. She totaled 21 points on 7-14 shooting, including 5 made threes. All players in the starting lineup for NCMC pushed into double figures plus Jordan Hibner added 9 points off the bench.
Defensively, NCMC held Marshalltown to 33.9% shooting in the game and out rebounded the visitors 45-30. The stifling Lady Pirates defense also forced 32 turnovers.
