It was a 72-63 road victory on Wednesday night for NCMC women's basketball over Marshalltown Community College.  With the win, the Lady Pirates are now 16-8 overall and 1-1 in Region XVI play.  The Lady Pirates will host Park University JV next on Friday at 5:30pm.

Kortlyn Rounkles again led NCMC in scoring with 23 points.  Her season average sits at 18.2 points per game on 44.1% shooting.

Also in double figures was Kennedie Kieffer and Dymeria Guillory, each with 11 points. 

The Lady Pirates defense held Marshalltown to 41% shooting in the game and forced 14 turnovers.  Rebounding played a large role in the victory, with NCMC pulling down 43 rebounds to Marshalltown's 20.
