Comeback Bid Falls Short For Women's Basketball On Homecoming

Women's Basketball opened up the Homecoming night with a narrow loss to the University of Saint Mary JV 66-59.  The Lady Pirates are now 6-14 ahead of a Saturday road showdown with Metropolitan Community College.  They will look to avenge a 25-point loss to the Wolves back on January 23rd.

NCMC, who trailed 34-19 at the half, made a valiant comeback attempt but fell just short.  Leading the charge offensively for the Lady Pirates was sophomore Hailey Burrows with 17 points.  Chipping in with 13 points was Maddison Book and Karrisa Baber added 12 points.

A nice, feel good story for Lady Pirates basketball was the honoring of the Eaton family as the NCMC Family of the Year.  Kendey Eaton, a Pirate alumnus and former standout women's basketball player, was back on campus to receive the award with her family.  Eaton is currently staring on the Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team.
