Lady Pirates Basketball opened Region 16 play on Wednesday night with a 105-80 home loss to Metropolitan Community College. 

The Lady Pirates had good offensive nights from sophomores Maddison Book and Hailey Burrows, each totaling 18 points.  Da'Briauna Bables tossed in 17 points as well in the losing effort.

Metropolitan had four players in double figures, led by Kaylee Vantrump's 34 points.

"I thought we did some good things.  We have really been focusing on making good decisions on the offensive end and getting the best shot possible.  We have to get better on the defensive end now.  Our goal right now is to get better each day," detailed Coach Croy.

NCMC is now 6-11 overall and on a 6-game losing streak ahead of a Saturday road matchup with 6th ranked North Arkansas College.
