Tuesday saw a tough 100-65 home defeat for Lady Pirates Basketball to 9th ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College. The loss was NCMC's second to the Blue Devils this season. With a record of 4-5, the Lady Pirates will next take on Missouri Valley College JV on Friday in the Ketcham Community Center.
The Lady Pirates fought offensive woes in the first half. "KCKCC threw a zone at us that they hadn't played all year. We struggled in the first half against it and made some adjustments at half and were able to get some better looks in the second half. We just need to learn from it," detailed Coach Croy. Throughout the game, Kansas City Kansas was able to force their offensive will on the Lady Pirates. "We struggled on the defensive end. We tried zone and man both but just couldn't get stops," added Croy.
