Solid Second Half Pushes Lady Pirates To Victory

It was a solid win on Friday night for the Lady Pirates basketball team as they took down Central Methodist University JV 74-48.  With the win, the team is now 3-4 ahead of a road matchup with Southwestern Community College Wednesday night.  Earlier in the season, the Spartans defeated NCMC 81-70 at the Ketcham Center.

At halftime, the Lady Pirates only held a 6-point lead.  The second half was a much different story.  "We started off slow in the first half.  We weren't being aggressive on either end of the floor.  At halftime we made the adjustment to pick them up full court and our energy increased on the floor.  We were able to get some steals and quick baskets.  We played a good 3rd quarter on both ends of the floor," commented Coach Croy.  "It was a much needed win for us."

As a team, the Lady Pirates shot 45.5% from the field against CMU.  Three NCMC players ended in double digits.  Da'Briauna Bables led the way with 16 points.  Maddison Book and Hailey Burrows each chipped in 15 points.  Bables also pulled down 13 rebounds for her first double-double as a Lady Pirate.
