Lady Pirates Drop Two To Kick Off Season

Lady Pirates Basketball kicked off their season with a couple weekend contests in the Kansas City area.  On Friday, they took a 75-66 loss to Fort Scott Community College.  Saturday, it was an 81-61 defeat at the hands of 5th ranked Johnson County Community College.  The Lady Pirates begin their home slate of games Tuesday when they host Ellsworth Community College at 5:30pm in the Ketcham Community Center.

Head Coach Jenni Croy had these comments about the Lady Pirates first two games.  "We competed well in both games.  We had three good quarters in each game.  Against good teams like the two we played, it takes playing well all four quarters.  We definitely had some bright spots as well as several things to work on.  This group plays hard and will continue to get better and better."

Sophomore Hailey Burrows led the team in scoring in the opener against Fort Scott with 19 points.  Dymeria Guillory paced the Lady Pirates against Johnson County netting 18 points.
