Lady Pirates Even Region 16 Record By Defeating MCC-Penn Valley

It was a resounding Region 16 win on Wednesday night for the Lady Pirates as they handily defeated MCC-Penn Valley 98-68 at the Ketcham Community Center.  The win evens their region record at 1-1 and moved the overall record to 16-4.  The 14th ranked Pirates will battle another ranked foe when they travel to 13th ranked North Arkansas CC on Saturday.

Sarah Lamp led the charge for the Pirates with 19 points and 14 rebounds.  Kendey Eaton posted 11 points and distributed 8 assists.  Rounding out the double digit scorers were Whitley Richman and Samm Jett with 14 points apiece, Maddie Book with 13, and Ashtin Williams with 10.

"I was really pleased with our scoring balance last night and our rebounding as well. We really worked on having good ball possessions in practice and working the ball to get the best shot. The girls executed exactly what we needed to do and they knocked down shots. We knew we couldn't get in a track meet with them and we had to control the tempo to play our style," remarked Coach Croy.
