Athletic Archers Too Much For Lady Pirates

The NCMC Lady Pirates couldn't take down St. Louis Community College in front of a large crowd at Ketcham Community Center on Thursday night.  The 82-67 loss dropped the team to 20-8 on the season and 6-2 in Region 16 play.  The Lady Pirates will be the #2 seed behind STLCC heading into the region tournament next week.  "We'd like to get to have another chance at them in the region tournament," commented Coach Croy.

"We had a great atmosphere at our game and we'd like to thank everyone who came out to support us.  St. Louis played well last night. We struggled with ball movement and dug ourselves a hole early that we were unable to climb out of," remarked Croy.

The anchors on offense Thursday were Kendey Eaton and McKinley Hurley.  Eaton finished the night with a hard fought 23 points while Hurley tossed in 20.  Kelly Warford and Jami Nickerson were also in double digits in the losing effort.

The final regular season contest for Coach Croy's squad will be on the road Saturday against North Arkansas College.  Less than a week ago, North Ark got the better of the Lady Pirates 68-57 in Ketcham.
