Road Victory Over The Storm Moves Lady Pirates To 16-5

The Lady Pirates notched another win Wednesday night over Southeast Community College 68-56.  With the victory, Coach Croy's squad pushed their record to 16-5 on the year.  The team's current 8-game winning streak is their longest of the year.

Sarah Lamp had an outstanding performance for the Lady Pirates.  She totaled 26 points and 11 rebounds for her 16th double-double on the year.  Jami Nickerson put up 12 points and Kendey Eaton netted 11 points despite being the focus of the Storm defense.  "They tried to take Kendey away by running a box and one on her. The trouble with that is we have multiple scorers on the floor," commented Croy of the opposing team's tactics and her team's ability to thwart them.

With multiple girls stepping up, this cohesive unit found yet another way to win.  "They are a close-knit group who have really bonded and continue to look for each other and utilize each other's strengths on the court," remarked Croy.

The Lady Pirates face a big road test on Saturday when they take on St. Louis Community College.  Both teams are undefeated in region play and the Archer's bring in a tidy 7-2 home record to the contest.  Tipoff for the game is set for 1:00pm.
