Win Over Southeast CC Keeps Undefeated Home Record Alive

The Lady Pirates rolled to another home win on Saturday against Southeast Community College from Beatrice, NE.  The final score of 96-59 move the team to 13-5 on the year and kept their home record unblemished at 9-0.

Kendey Eaton with 27 points and Sarah Lamp with 22 points again led the way.  Jami Nickerson netted 14 points and McKinley Hurley tossed in 13 points to round out the Lady Pirate scorers in double digits.  Sophomore guard Asia Young went down with an apparent knee injury in the 2nd quarter which put a bit of a damper on the afternoon.  Her twin sister, Dasia Young, was lost earlier in the year to an ACL injury.

"After a rough first quarter, we finally got things going and played well in the 2nd quarter.  It was a very physical game and I felt like we handled that pretty well.  We played our tempo and continued to push the ball.  The girls continued to play well together and look for each other," commented Coach Croy on the efforts of her squad.

"It was a good win to lead us back into region play against Cottey College on Wednesday," remarked Croy.  That road Region 16 contest will be the Lady Pirates second of the season.  They opened region play with a resounding win over Wentworth Military Academy earlier in the week.
