On Sophomore Day, Pirate's Softball Takes Care Of Business Against Metropolitan CC

NCMC softball honored their sophomore athletes with a pair of region wins on Saturday against Metropolitan CC.  The wins improved their region record to 15-11 with just a home doubleheader with Jefferson College remaining on the regular season schedule.

Game 1: North Central Missouri College powered past Metropolitan Community College 7–4 behind standout performances from several key players. Cassi Rodgers led the charge both in the circle and at the plate, slugging two home runs and driving in three runs while also pitching four solid innings with only one earned run allowed. Trinity Alderman added a crucial three-run homer, and Addison Huber contributed a solo shot of her own while scoring twice. The Pirates capitalized on timely hitting, drawing just two walks but making their six hits count. Defensively, the team turned two double plays and held MCC scoreless over the final three innings, thanks to a strong relief effort by Briley Bouma, who struck out four and allowed just two hits.

Game 2: North Central Missouri College delivered a dominant all-around performance in their 10–2 victory over Metropolitan Community College, powered by a standout offensive showing and solid pitching. Emma Cathey led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, while Emma Lisenbee contributed both on the mound and at bat, striking out five and allowing just two earned runs over four innings, and adding a two-run homer. Addison Huber also went a perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Brookelynn Becker, Cassi Rodgers, and Kenley Moore each added key hits and RBIs to fuel the attack. Briley Bouma closed out the final inning cleanly, securing the win as NCMC improved their offensive rhythm and maintained control throughout the game.

Sophomores honored in the day's ceremony were Kenley Moore, Brookelynn Becker, Addison Huber, Gracie Dickson, Briley Bouma, Cassi Rodgers and Makenzie Dunkin.  Their efforts as student athletes at NCMC have been greatly appreciated.
