Softball Drops A Pair To Indian Hills CC

NCMC softball took a pair of home defeats on Thursday when they tangled with Indian Hills CC.  Next up will be a home doubleheader on Saturday against Region 16 foe Metropolitan CC.  This pair of games will also include the Sophomore Day ceremony.

Game 1: Despite a tough 8–1 loss to Indian Hills, North Central Missouri College saw bright moments from a few key players. Freshman Addison Huber provided the lone run for the Pirates with a solo home run, finishing the day 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Emma Cathey turned in a solid performance at the plate, going 2-for-3 to help generate offensive pressure. On the mound, Briley Bouma delivered a steadier relief effort, allowing just two earned runs over 4.1 innings while striking out four. Defensive miscues and a powerful Indian Hills lineup ultimately proved too much, but North Central showed grit in spots against a tough opponent.

Game 2: Despite a solid relief effort from Briley Bouma, who threw 3.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, North Central Missouri College fell 5–1 to Indian Hills Community College. Brookelynn Becker provided a spark at the plate, reaching base three times and scoring the team's lone run. Cassi Rodgers led the Lady Pirates with a 2-for-4 performance, while Addison Huber drove in the only RBI. Emma Lisenbee took the loss in her start, allowing four earned runs over 3.2 innings. The NCMC defense turned a double play but also committed two errors, which Indian Hills capitalized on during key innings.
