Softball Splits A Pair Or Road Doubleheaders, Sit At 17-27 Overall

Softball split a pair of road series on Thursday and Saturday.  Saturday's games, against Region 16 foe State Fair CC, moved their region record to 11-11.  Next up will be more region action when the Pirates host St. Charles CC on Tuesday for a doubleheader.  First pitch is set for 2:00pm.

 

Southwestern CC Doubleheader Highlights

  • Game 1: Brookelynn Becker homered, Emma Lisenbee added a double.  Lisenbee also struck out 7 batters while tossing 5 innings.
  • Game 2: NCMC bats came alive with 13 runs which plated 11 runs.  Leading the charge was Ireland Bloss and Kenley Moore, each with 3 hits.  Moore also totaled 3 RBIs.  Cassi Rodgers got the win by tossing 5 innings and allowing just 5 hits and 3 runs.

 

State Fair CC Doubleheader Highlights

  • Game 1: NCMC outhit the Roadrunners but came up a pair of runs short.  Becker went 3-3 with 2 runs, 3 RBIs and homer.  Bloss, Emma Cathey and Alex Endicott each added a pair of hits.  Rodgers took the loss, allowing 9 runs in 3.2 innings pitched.
  • Game 2: Lisenbee twirled a gem from the pitcher's circle.  She had a complete game and allowed just 1 run while striking out 5.  Myla Laws went 2-4 at the plate, the only NCMC hitter with multiple hits.
