Softball Takes A Pair Of Road Losses & Fall In Region 16 Nail Bitters At Home

Softball is on a 4-game losing skid after dropping a road doubleheader to Indian Hills CC 10-0 & 13-8 on Monday and a pair of Region 16 losses at home to Crowder College 5-3 & 6-5 on Tuesday.  Overall, NCMC is now 15-25 and hold a Region 16 mark of 10-10.

The Crowder losses were absolute nail bitters.  The opening loss came in 9-innings when Jasmine Meyers knocked a decisive 2-run HR.  In game two, it was all tied up in the top of the last inning when Crowder scored the go ahead run on a fielder's choice.  In both games, the NCMC offense couldn't come up with the answers in their halves of the innings.

The Pirates have 10 games left on their regular season schedule.  Key home dates will be April 15th against St. Charles CC and April 19th against Metropolitan CC.  The 19th will also be sophomore recognition day.

As a team, NCMC is batting a solid .285 with 43 homers in 40 games.  Pacing the Pirates is sophomore Brookelynn Becker with a .391 average and 7 home runs.  Fellow sophomore Addison Huber has also knocked 7 homers.

In the pitcher's circle, the trifecta of Cassi Rodgers (4.80 ERA), Emma Lisenbee (5.76 ERA) and Briley Bouma (4.37 ERA) have been solid for NCMC.
