Softball Struggles To Get Going On The Road Against Metropolitan CC

Pirate's softball took a pair of Region 16 loses on Tuesday when they hit the road to take on Metropolitan CC.  In region play, NCMC is now 8-8 and 13-21 overall with their next action coming at home on Thursday against Iowa Western CC.  Sunday, the Pirates will host Missouri State University-West Plains in their next region contest.

 

In Tuesday's 8-0 opening loss, the Pirates could only muster 3 hits off Metro CC's ace Payton Smith.  Taking the loss for NCMC was Emma Lisenbee who surrendered 2 earned runs in 3 innings pitched.  The Pirates also committed 3 errors in the game, leading to 3 unearned runs.

 

In the 13-3 defeat, Cassi Rodgers got roughed up for 11 runs (6 earned) over 1.2 innings pitched.  Offensively, Brookelynn Becker knocked a home run, the lone bright spot on the day for NCMC.
