Softball Falls Twice At Crowder College

NCMC softball took a pair of losses Saturday at Region 16 foe Crowder College.  They lost 4-1 and 10-2 which drops their overall record to 11-6 and 2-4 in region play.  Next up is a trip to Florida where they will play 6 games from March 18-20.

In the opener, Cassi Rodgers took the tough luck loss after throwing a complete game and allowing 1 earned run.  The other 3 runs scored by Crowder were unearned due to 3 NCMC errors.  Offensively, Riley Murray and Gracie McKinney, each with 2 hits, led the Pirates.  McKinney scored the lone NCMC run with Maeve Lavoy picking up the RBI.

Game two saw NCMC grab an early 2-0 lead before Crowder's offense came to life.  Briley Bouma took the loss after surrendering 5 runs in 2.1 innings pitched.  Amelia Pingleton came in to relieve her and also surrendered 5 runs in 1 inning of work.  Scoring NCMC's runs were McKinney and Hope Helton.  Collecting a pair of hits was Hailey Shepardson.
