Softball Takes Care Of Business With 2 Wins At Graceland JV

Softball went on the road Thursday and took care of business against Graceland JV 7-3 and 23-10 to improve to 25-27 on the year.  Next action will be Sophomore Recognition Day against Moberly Area CC on Sunday.  The team's 4 sophomores will be honored between games that day for their contributions to the program.

In the opener, Mallory Greiwe paced the Pirates by going 2-4 with a pair of runs and RBIs.  Gracyn Rongey knocked a double, the team's lone extra base hit.  Maeve Lavoy got the win, tossing a complete game and allowing just 2 earned runs.

Runs were easier to come by for both squads in game two.  Graceland JV jumped out to a lead and held it until the 6th inning when the Pirates scored 7 runs.  In the 7th, NCMC totaled 8 more runs which mad the final 23-10.  The trio of Maggie McLain, Emma Angel and Hailey Shepardson each totaled 4 hits in the victory.  Angel, Shepardson, and Gracie McKinney all homered in the contest.  Lauren Krohn got the win in relief of Angel.  She pitched the final 4 innings and allowed just 1 unearned run.
