Pirate's softball swept a doubleheader with Graceland JV on Tuesday to improve to 19-17 for the year. Both wins came via the run rule, with the final scores being 10-0 and 12-4. Next up will be a road Region 16 tilt with State Fair CC. Earlier in the season at home, the Pirates split a doubleheader with the Roadrunners.
Maeve Lavoy stared for NCMC in the opener, tossing a complete game shutout and knocking her 3rd home run of the season. Shortstop Carsen Sporleder also had a nice game by going 3-3 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBIs.
Lauren Krohn earned the win in game two by pitching 5 innings and striking out 10. At the plate, Mallory Greiwe had an excellent game as she went 2-3 with a double and 4 RBIs. Leadoff hitter Rylie Boyer went 3-4 with 3 runs scored in the win.
