Pirates Softball Loses Pair To Indian Hills CC

Indian Hills CC proved too much for Pirate's softball as they took a pair of home defeats on Friday 1-0 and 18-1.  NCMC's record now sits at 13-15 as they hit the road for Nebraska to face Southeast CC on Saturday and Central CC-Columbus on Sunday.  Each road matchup will be a doubleheader.

In the opening game with Indian Hills, offense was difficult to come by for both squads.  It was not until the top of the 7th that the visitors were able to scratch across what proved to be the game winning run against NCMC pitcher Lauren Krohn.  Her final line in the tough luck loss was 7 IP, 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 8.  NCMC was no-hit by Indian Hill's pitcher Madie Anderson in the game.

The story played out differently in the finale.  Indian Hills plated five runs in each of the first 3 innings and totaled 4 home runs in the game.  The Pirates offense was still sparse with leadoff hitter Rylie Boyer providing a bit of a spark.  She went 2-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.  Taking the loss in the pitcher's circle was Maeve Lavoy.  She allowed 10 earned runs on 12 hits in 2 innings of work.
