NCMC softball went on the road Monday and easily defeated Moberly Area CC 19-6 and 11-3 in doubleheader. With the wins, Pirate's softball now holds a record of 11-9 with their next action coming on Friday and Saturday when they host Region 16 foe Three Rivers Community College. The visiting Raiders hold a 14-5 record coming into the matchup.
NCMC pounded out 19 hits in the opener with Moberly Area. Leading the charge was Emma Angel who went 3-3 including a pair of doubles and 3 RBIs. Getting the win in the pitcher's circle was Maeve Lavoy who only allowed 2 earned runs over 5 innings pitched. She totaled 6 strikeouts.
The bats stayed hot for NCMC in game two. Caragan Baker and Angel each had a triple as part of 11 Pirate's hits. Gracie McKinney had a nice game with the bat going 2-3 with a pair of runs and RBIs. Lauren Krohn pitched the win by tossing a complete game with 14 strikeouts.
