Pirates Softball Rolls Into Postseason Play At 30-16

Pirates softball closed out their regular season with a pair of road wins at Graceland University JV 6-3 & 6-0 plus a Region XVI road sweep of St. Charles CC 2-0 & 3-1.  With the wins, NCMC hit the 30-win plateau and heads into the postseason with a 30-16 overall mark and a record of 15-9 in region play.

Kori Hornaday had a nice offensive day against Graceland going 3-6 with 3 runs scored and an RBI.  Sammi Bradshaw tossed 4 innings of relief in game two to earn a win.  She struck out 10 batters.

Against St. Charles, the Pirates secured the victory to the opener in extra innings.  Caragan Baker drove in both runs to help secure the victory.  Chloe Buckallew twirled all 8 innings, allowing just 4 hits and striking out 13.

NCMC used a 3-run 2nd inning in game two to cement victory.  Sammi Bradshaw's complete game with 8 strikeouts kept down St. Charles's offense.  Providing NCMC's firepower was Cowman who had a pair of doubles, scoring a run and driving in another.
