Pirates Softball Dominates In 4 Region XVI Wins

Pirates softball got four Region XVI wins on Wednesday and Thursday to push their overall record to 11-15 ahead of a Sophomore Day matchup Saturday with Southeast CC.  In region, NCMC now sits at 7-7 with 8 games remaining.

 

Wednesday was a 6-0 and 13-10 home sweep of St. Charles CC.  In game one, Abby Dobbins had a nice 3-4 game, scoring a run and driving in two.  Getting the pitching win was Chloe Buckallew who struck out 15 batters in the complete game.  The back end of the doubleheader was won by Sammi Bradshaw.

 

On Thursday NCMC went on the road a took down Metropolitan CC 13-0 and 15-2.  Sadie Smith starred in the opener offensively, going 2-3 with a home run, a pair of runs scored and 2 RBIs.  Buckallew again to the complete game win, this time striking out 7 and only allowing 2 hits.  In game two, first baseman Zoey Chrisman had a big game at the plate.  She went 3-4 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs.  Buckallew swung the bat well also, knocking her own pair of home runs.

 

Come out to Griffin Field Saturday to wish the Pirate sophomore players well.  First pitch is set for 2pm.
