A Pair Of Home Region XVI Splits For Pirates Softball

Pirates softball split a pair of home Region XVI doubleheaders on Monday (3/21) and Tuesday (3/29).  At this point in the season, the team's record is 6-10 with a region mark of 2-4.  Upcoming are tough road matchups with perennial powers Crowder College and Three Rivers CC.

 

In the 4-3 win on Monday against Metropolitan CC, the Pirates had a strong offensive effort from Kaycia Williamson (1-3, 1 run and 2 RBIs).  Getting the win in the pitcher's circle was Sammi Brashaw who tossed a complete game, striking out 5.

 

Tuesday saw the Pirates take an 8-3 victory over State Fair CC.  Zoey Chrisman led the way going 1-2 with a home run and 2 RBIs.  She also scored a run and was walked twice.  The winning pitcher was again Bradshaw, logging 6.2 innings and striking out 7.  The win improved her season record to 4-4.
