Road Split For Pirates At KCKCC

Pirates softball earned a split on the road at Kansas City Kansas CC on Friday, dropping the opener 6-3 before edging out the Blue Devils in game two 4-3.  NCMC's record now sits at 4-4 with Region XVI games and a trip to Coco Beach, FL on the horizon.

 

A big game by KCKCC's Bradi Basler doomed the Pirates in the opener.  She collected a pair of hits including a home run plus drove in 4 runs.  Taking the loss in the circle for NCMC was Sammi Bradshaw who tossed the complete game, allowing 6 earned runs on 9 hits.  Marissa Buckallew had a nice game for the Pirates offensively going 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

 

Leadoff shortstop Caragan Baker posted a 2-3 effort with a run scored in game two to lead the offensive charge.  Madison Cowman went 1-3 with a run and an RBI as well.  In the pitcher's circle, Chloe Buckallew tossed 3 shutout innings to start the game for NCMC.  Picking up the win was Bradshaw with a couple scoreless relief innings, including a pair of strikeouts.
