NCMC's softball season came to a close on Saturday when the Lady Pirates were defeated 9-2 by Crowder College. This was the second loss of the NJCAA Region 16 Tournament for NCMC, who lost 4-3 in the opening round to eventual champion Three Rivers Community College. Between the two defeats, NCMC picked up a 5-0 win over Jefferson College in the consolation portion of the bracket.
The Lady Pirates completed the season with a 41-13 record, setting the school's single season win record.
A pair of Lady Pirates earned All-Region honors. Casey Stout was named a 1st Team All-Region Pitcher and Sammi Bradshaw garnered 2nd Team All-Region Pitcher status.
NCMC's Steve Richman coached his final game for the Lady Pirates and is retired following the 2021 season. He completes his softball coaching career for the Lady Pirates with a 142-74 record. He also coached NCMC men's basketball for 16 years with a record of 260-213. His service to NCMC is to be commended.
