Lady Pirates softball, receiving votes in the April 12th NJCAA DI poll, knocked off #15 Three Rivers Community College at home on Friday 12-4 and 6-5. The wins pushed the team's record to 34-6 overall and 8-4 in Region 16 play. Next up will be a Monday road trip to State Fair CC for a pair of region games.
Casey Stout and Sammi Bradshaw earned the wins in the pitching circle, with Stout collecting a save in the second game as well. Bradshaw and Stout also provided the offensive thump, homering for the Lady Pirates offense.
Between games, Head Coach and Athletic Director Steve Richman was honored for his service to the college. Richman's roles have included leading the men's basketball program, softball program and the athletic department plus having taught in the physical education department during his tenure with NCMC. His leadership and guidance will be missed.
