Softball Earns First Region Wins, Improves to 20-4

NCMC softball won their home doubleheader with State Fair Community College on Wednesday to improve to 20-4 overall for the season.  The 5-4 and 9-1 wins evened the team's Region 16 record to 2-2.  Next up they will host Three Rivers Community College in a weekend four game series.  The Lady Raiders are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA DI poll and hold an undefeated 15-0 record.

Earning pitching wins for the Lady Pirates against State Fair were Casey Stout (11-1) and Sammi Bradshaw (6-1).  Each pitcher has a season ERA under 2.00.  Stout piled up 11 strikeouts in her outing but did give up 4 earned runs, tying her highest total this season.  Bradshaw notched 6 strikeouts in her 5 innings pitched.

At the plate, Stout had a homerun in game two and drove in three runs.  Leading the attack in the opener was shortstop Abby Dobbins who went 2-4 with a run scored and one driven in.  Mckayla Blackburn added 2 doubles in the back end of the doubleheader.
