Lady Pirates Softball defeated Marshalltown Community College in a pair of close contests on Saturday. NCMC pulled out the wins by the scores of 14-13 and 11-6. With the wins, the Lady Pirates are now 22-13 on the season.
In the opener, it was a back and forth affair. The lead switched hands seven times in the game with NCMC finally coming out on top after plating three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning and holding Marshalltown scoreless in the seventh.
The second game saw the Lady Pirates grab the lead early and not look back. A five-run fourth inning for NCMC sealed the victory.
