Cold Temps Can't Cool Lady Pirates Bats

It was a pair of Region 16 victories yesterday for the Lady Pirates softball team at a frigid Griffin Field.  NCMC took down St. Charles Community College 10-0 and 12-1 to improve their record to 22-7 overall and 4-6 in region play.

Dominating pitching performances came from Kaitlyn Marsh and Alex Miller in the wins.  The pitching staff allowed only 5 total hits on the day.  "Pitching was very strong and defense looked really good as well," commented Coach Richman.

Plenty of Lady Pirates were involved with the bats despite the cold conditions.  Georgia Gibler had 2 homeruns on the day with Kendra Holt and Miller each clubbing one as well.  "I thought the kids came out and played well on a day that was tough to play in because of the weather.  We hit the ball well and were consistent all day," concluded Richman.

More Region 16 action is on the home slate for the Lady Pirates as they take on MCC-Maple Woods today at Griffin Field.  First pitch is set for 2pm.
