Lady Pirates Softball earned a home split with State Fair Community College on Wednesday. After dropping the first game 8-4, the team rebounded for a 10-0 win behind Alex Miller's no-hit shutout. The team's record now sits at 20-7 and 2-6 in Region 16 play.
"Inconsistency plagues us right now both in hitting and pitching. We are playing a little tight and I told the girls to just relax, loosen up and have some fun and it showed in game two. It was nice to see us bounce back for a shutout after the disappointing game one loss," commented Coach Steve Richman.
Next on the schedule for the Lady Pirates will be a 4-game home series with Three Rivers Community College. Those games are set to be played on Friday and Saturday at Griffin Field.
