Sunday the Lady Pirates softball team won a pair of home games against Ellsworth Community College.  Game one took an extra inning, ending in a final score of 3-2.  Game two saw the Pirates take care of business in a bit easier fashion with the 11-6 win.  The Lady Pirates are now 7-1 overall ahead of Region 16 competition which starts Wednesday on the road at State Fair Community College.

"The girls rebounded from a loss with a solid performance in game one.  The game was close throughout and we showed the ability to close a tight game out.  Pitching was very good in both games.  I was happy with the performance both offensively and defensively.  It is early and there are still areas that we will improve, but early on we are playing solid softball," commented Coach Richman.
