Lady Pirates softball opened their home slate of games Thursday with a split against Park University JV. Game one went to NCMC by a score of 7-1 with the second half of the double header going to Park by the score of 8-5. On the season, the Lady Pirates now hold a 5-1 record.
"I thought we were pretty lethargic in both games. We were able to put the ball in play hard in game one and pushed runs across. Defensively we played good in game one. In game two, I think we became complacent and our swings were not conducive to line drives and we popped out a lot. It was a great learning experience for our young team as well as from a coaching stand point," remarked Coach Richman of his team's efforts.
The next action for the Lady Pirates will be a home doubleheader against Ellsworth Community College on Sunday, March 4th. First pitch will be at 2pm.
