Lady Pirates Start Off Season In Resounding Fashion

NCMC Softball got their season kicked off on Monday and Tuesday handily defeating North Arkansas College on the road in all four games.  The final scores were 14-1, 14-2, 13-0, and 15-1.

The Lady Pirates dominated in all facets of the game.  In the four game set, the team hit .514.  Leading the way offensively was Hannah Millsap who went 8 for 10.  Makayla Lamphier drove in the most runs with 10 RBI in the four games.  Kaitlyn Marsh earned two wins throwing 10 innings and only allowing 2 runs while striking out 5.  Also with wins were Alex Miller and Macie Bohannon.

"I thought it was a great way to start the season.  The first games are always difficult as we have had little time on the "dirt" to prepare due to weather.  There is always the chance that you come out tight and make mistakes.  We did not.  We played very well, fielding was very good as the team had to make plays behind the pitchers.  Pitching was sharp and our hitting was very good as well.  We squared the ball well and had some very hard hit balls.  Very proud of the way things started," commented Coach Richman.

The next action for the Lady Pirates will be Thursday, March 1st when they host Park University JV for a double header that starts at 2pm.
