Lady Pirates softball took both ends of the doubleheader against State Fair Community College on Tuesday. Game one was not close with a 12-0 score while game two was much tighter with a final of 10-9. The team is now 7-3 on the season.
"At State Fair, I was overall happy with the day. Game one we played well all around. Our pitching was excellent, defense was sharp and our hitting was stout. Game two we played pretty well too. They made a run at us in the late innings after being up 9-4, when they tied it in the bottom of the sixth. We were able to manufacture a run in the top of the 7th and shut them down in the bottom of the inning for the win," commented Coach Richman of his team's efforts.
Next up for the Lady Pirates will be Central Methodist University JV on Monday, March 13th at home.
